The Research Summary series from the Utah Women & Leadership Project offers short reports summarizing various areas of research. The first eight reports in the series focused on community conversations with Utah women of computing, based on 11 gatherings with groups including Black, Latina, Asian, Pacific Islander, and Indigenous women.
Statewide study on public perceptions
A subsequent set of reports describes results from a statewide study. This study established a baseline for public perceptions regarding the awareness, understanding, and attitudes surrounding challenges faced by women and girls in Utah.
Leadership and project direction
All research is conducted under the direction of Dr. Susan R. Madsen, who serves as the Extension Professor of Leadership at Utah State University and is the Founding Director of the UWLP.
Range of covered topics
The series includes a wide range of topics such as STEM fields, finance, entrepreneurship, health, and workforce development. Other summaries address specific social issues including domestic violence, sexual harassment, and the gender pay gap.
