PAROWAN — A longstanding public building in Parowan will soon be getting a much-needed facelift thanks to funding from mineral lease royalties in the state. Earlier this month, the Parowan City Library was awarded a grant of $142,000 from the Permanent Community Impact Fund Board, which also came along with a $333,000 loan at 1.5% interest to fund a remodel.
Narcotics agents recently arrested a man in Parowan suspected of supplying methamphetamine linked to a woman’s overdose, finding drugs, a handgun and brass knuckles during a search. Timothy Allen Stehno, 33, was booked into the Iron County Correctional Facility Oct.

A deadly crash occurred Thursday night along Route 73 in Utah County. Police say the collision involved a semi-truck and Hyundai Accent. The semi was reportedly pulling a flatbed trailer when the crash occurred by milepost 20. While no one in the semi was hurt, the Hyundai driver was killed.
