Carbon High School celebrated its annual homecoming week in Price, featuring a series of community-wide festivities that concluded with a homecoming football game against Delta and a celebratory dance on Friday, Oct. 3, 2026. The week of events included themed dress-up days, a student pep rally, and a large community parade on Main Street.
Weekly Themed Activities
The week of celebrations began on Monday, Sept. 28, 2026, with a dress-up day themed "And 1," designed to showcase student creativity. On Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2026, the school held a Performative Day to highlight the artistic talents of the student body.
Dino All-Star Rally
A central event of the week occurred on Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2026, with the Dino All-Star Rally. During the rally, different grade levels represented various decades: seniors wore 1970s attire, juniors wore 1980s clothing, sophomores wore 1990s styles, and freshmen represented the 2000s. The senior class ultimately secured the top honors and bragging rights for the competition.
Parade and Spirit Day
On Thursday, Oct. 1, 2026, students participated in an "Anything But a Backpack Day," using non-traditional containers such as wagons and coolers to carry school supplies. The week's activities culminated on Friday, Oct. 3, 2026, with Spirit Day and the annual homecoming parade along Main Street.
Homecoming Court and Parade Participants
The homecoming parade featured several community groups and school organizations. Leading the procession was Scout Troop 271, followed by Grand Marshal Steve Pay, the Carbon High marching band, and the CHS cheer team. The 2026 Homecoming Court was also recognized, including King Carter Branch and Queen Morgan Donaldson.
Community and School Presence
Additional members of the homecoming court included Kaitlyn Sullivan and Kelsie Palmer for the junior court, Marcus Jackson as sophomore prince, and Kajsia Jones as sophomore princess. The freshman court consisted of Katie Abbott and Emma Bailey.
Numerous organizations participated in the parade, including the Carbon County Sheriff's Office, the CHS Class of 1986, and representatives from USU Eastern. School groups in attendance included Student Government, the Counseling Center, the Lunch Crew, Latinos in Action, the Theater Department, and several athletic teams including Girls Soccer, Cross Country, Volleyball, the Mountain Bike Team, Girls Flag Football, the Drill Team, and the Football Team.
Youth and Athletic Participation
The parade also drew participation from several local schools and youth groups, such as Helper Football, Mont Harmon Football, Wellington Elementary, Bruin Point Elementary, Creekview Elementary, Sally Mauro Elementary, and Castle Heights Elementary. Other participants included Helper Cross Country and Volleyball, as well as combined student government organizations from Helper and Mont Harmon.
Following the parade, youth athletes from Helper and Mont Harmon competed on the Carbon High football field, providing a glimpse of future Dino athletes. The evening concluded with the homecoming football game and an annual dance.
Academic and Athletic History Overview
The school's athletic and academic history includes significant achievements. On Oct. 14, 2020, Carbon High School announced that four athletic teams had been named 3A Academic State Champions. These included the Girls Soccer team, the Volleyball team, and the Boys Cross Country team. The school also noted that the 2019-2020 Girls Golf team had been recognized as a previous recipient of the honor.
