Juab School District held its annual Opening Institute on August 17 to welcome employees back for the 2026-27 school year, according to a September 2 statement from Superintendent Dr. Kodey S. Hughes.
More than 300 teachers, bus drivers, food service workers, custodians, secretaries, administrators, and support staff gathered at Juab High School to reconnect and prepare to serve students for the upcoming year.
The district's theme for the year is Moments That Stick. To introduce this message, the district welcomed guest speaker Matt Eicheldinger, a former elementary teacher from Minnesota and author of Sticky Notes.
Eicheldinger's message encouraged employees to notice meaningful moments that occur daily in education, such as a student mastering a difficult math problem or an encouraging word shared in a hallway. Dr. Hughes noted that every role within the district provides opportunities to make a difference in a child's life.
Following the morning session, employees returned to their respective schools and classrooms to complete preparations for students. Dr. Hughes challenged the community to thank educators and staff members and to ask them about memorable moments they have witnessed during the school year.
