The Tooele City Council is scheduled to hold a business meeting on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, according to a public notice issued August 28. The meeting will take place in the Tooele City Hall Council Chambers at 90 North Main Street, immediately following the 7:00 p.m. RDA meeting.
The agenda for the meeting includes several presentations and public hearings. Haley McCraken, Miss Teen Tooele City, is scheduled to present an America250 Tribute regarding Girls Nation in Washington D.C. Additionally, Jordan M. Byrd of the Disabled American Veterans Tooele County Chapter 20 is scheduled to provide a presentation.
Several ordinances and resolutions are on the agenda for consideration. These include ordinances regarding vacating a portion of Utah Avenue, amending the Tooele City Code for commercial special districts, creating the Compass Point Commercial Special District, and enacting architectural design standards for commercial development. The council will also address ordinances concerning garbage collection for private access dwellings.
Additional business items include resolutions regarding a Planning Commission stipend increase, water meter cost adjustments, and an agreement with COP Construction, LLC, for water reclamation facility upgrades. The council will also consider resolutions for the issuance of sewer revenue bonds and the disposal of surplus technology-related and public works equipment.
Public comments are permitted during a designated period, with comments limited to three minutes per person unless the governing body authorizes more time.
