When Dan Bryant saw the job listing for the Tri County bookmobile librarian, he knew he should apply for the job. He remembered the feeling of excitement when he was a child and saw the bookmobile pull up and was greeted by a bookmobile librarian, who was always happy to see him. “I want to do that,” he says. “I want to bring that to people.”

As an enthusiastic learner with a can-do attitude, Dan is a great fit for Utah State Library’s Bookmobile & Rural Services Program. He lights up when he talks about his new role as the Tri County Bookmobile Librarian. “I hope to deliver the best service and products to rural communities,” he says. “I want to bring joy to the people, like bookmobile drivers have brought to me.”

After spending months off the road for maintenance and a fresh makeover, the Tri County Bookmobile is ready to roll again. We are thrilled to have Dan behind the wheel, helping our patrons in Sevier, Piute, and Wayne Counties, and Antimony in Garfield County.

The Tri County Bookmobile offers a variety of free services with a library card, including:

Access to thousands of titles, both in-person and through the Libby app.

A Library of Things, where patrons can check out a variety of items from a telescope to a carpet cleaner.

Access to a massive digital collection of research tools, newspapers, and educational resources.

If you don’t have a library card, it’s easy (and free!) to sign up. Bring your photo ID and proof of address to the bookmobile or bookmobile headquarters, located at 79 North 100 West Bicknell, UT 84715.

Be sure to view our full bookmobile schedule to catch Dan on his route and catch a little of that bookmobile magic yourself!
