The Provo City School District released a community update detailing upcoming board meetings and district events. The update included information regarding a scheduled board meeting and various educational programs across the district.
The Board of Education is scheduled to hold an all-day meeting on Friday, September 25. The study session is set to begin at 9:00 a.m., followed by a business meeting at 2:15 p.m. that will include public comment. The meeting will take place in the main conference room area of the Grandview Technology Center. Topics for discussion include the Timpanogos/Dixon site, preschool discussions, credit guidelines, the course catalog, a financial report from the Auditor’s Office, DLI discussion, the Sex Education Committee, design plans for a new elementary school, the naming of the new elementary school, various policies, and an executive session regarding real estate and personnel.
The district recently held its second meeting with the DLI Parent Committee. Additionally, the district noted that a Get the Scoop event was scheduled for Provo High from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. to provide information on college, CTE, CE, AP, and AVID. K-3 parents can also attend Parent University at Shoreline Middle School on October 15 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., featuring classes focused on literacy skills.
The district expressed appreciation for several recent activities, including the Provo District Foundation's golf tournament and recent Parent Teacher Conferences. Other recent events included a Parent Resource Night at Centennial Middle School and various classroom visits at Independence High School, Shoreline Middle School, Timpview High School, and Westridge Elementary School.
