The Mont Harmon Middle School archery team captured national titles in both the Bullseye and 3D divisions at the NASP Championship Tournament held June 18-20 in Daytona Beach, Florida. The Price, Utah, middle school program finished as the top-ranked team out of 41 competing in Bullseye and 60 teams in 3D.
Bullseye division performance details
Competing at the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach, the Mont Harmon middle school team achieved a dominant performance in the Bullseye division. According to tournament results from the NASP tournament records, the team earned a score of 3,363 points, securing the number one rank among 41 participating teams. The squad recorded 180 perfect 10-point shots during the competition.
Success in 3D division
The team’s success extended to the 3D division at the same championship event. Mont Harmon placed first out of 60 competing teams with a total score of 1,692 points and 102 perfect 10-point shots.
Previous Utah state tournament wins
The national championship victory followed a season of dominance for the Price-based middle school, which had previously swept the Utah state titles earlier this spring. At the 2026 Utah NASP State Tournament held March 12-14, Mont Harmon's first team took first place out of 14 teams with a score of 3,337 and 173 10-point shots.
Second team state rankings
The program also secured second place at the state level with its second team, which scored 3,206 points. This followed a similar performance at the 2026 Utah NASP State 3D Tournament in late March, where the school's first team won the state title out of six competing teams with a score of 1,690 and 105 10-point shots.
NASP national tournament series overview
The championship in Florida was the culmination of a national tournament series organized by the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP). The 2026 series began earlier in the year at the Western National Tournament, held April 23-25 at the Mountain America Center in Sandy, Utah, and continued with the Eastern National Tournament at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, Kentucky, from May 7-9.
Scale of NASP archery program
Each stage of the national series featured both Bullseye and 3D competition formats. The program, which provides archery instruction to more than 1.2 million students annually across 50 states and international locations, has reached over 24.7 million students since its start in 2002.
For the 2026 season, NASP implemented expanded scholarship opportunities designed to reward excellence in both the Bullseye and 3D divisions. These opportunities include random scholarships drawn from all participants in the Western and Eastern National Tournaments, as well as a scholarship shoot-off held during the championship tournament.
In the scholarship shoot-off, the top five male and female archers from both divisions—based on combined results from the Eastern and Western Nationals—competed for prizes ranging from $1,000 to $5,000. Additionally, NASP expanded its team scholarship program to include 3D teams, providing awards for up to 24 archers on each of the top three high-scoring teams.
NASP President Tommy Floyd noted that the program's scholarship sponsors play a vital role in connecting archery passion to future educational opportunities. The expansion of these awards is intended to reinforce the program's focus on post-secondary education and career training for student participants.
