Kaysville City is hosting an Independent 4th Celebration featuring a week of patriotic themed contests, parades, and community events. While the city noted these activities are intended to complement rather than replace the traditional 4th of July, the schedule includes various ways for residents to participate through creative competitions and live presentations.
Various patriotic contests scheduled
A variety of contests are scheduled throughout the week. The Flags and Swags on Display contest began June 22, with winners announced June 29. A Patriotic Photo Contest, featuring divisions for people, pets, food, and scenery, opened June 23.
Creative competitions and submission details
Other creative competitions include the Chalk It Up To Independence Day contest, which started June 24 for various age categories, and the Freedom Fashion Contest, which began June 25 with divisions including family, adult, teen, child, baby, and pet. Participants can submit contest photos via Kaysville City or Kaysville Parks and Recreation Facebook messenger.
Additional community events and presentations
Additional community activities include a Rotary Club Virtual 5K, with details available on the Kaysville Rotary Club Facebook page. The Red, White and Zoom Along musical presentation, featuring performers from the past 21 years of Kaysville City Musicals, will have a sneak peek on June 26 and a full release on July 3.
July 4th parade and drive
On July 4, the Davis County Independence Air Parade is scheduled from 9:00 am to 11:00 am, featuring military flyovers, aviation clubs, and sky divers. The First Responders Freedom Drive will also begin at 9:00 am on July 4, traveling through local neighborhoods.
Patriotic live stream event details
A Patriotic Live Stream will take place on Sunday, July 5, at 7 pm. This event will honor unsung heroes from Kaysville and Fruit Heights and will feature guest speaker Tim Ballard, the author and founder of Operation Underground Railroad.
