The Utah Department of Natural Resources, Division of State Parks, is seeking applicants for seasonal Park Ranger Aide positions at Great Salt Lake State Park. Up to two positions are available with a salary of $13.77 per hour.
These seasonal roles, which do not include benefits, are scheduled to run from approximately August 2026 through January 2027, though an extension is possible.
Selected aides will assist in the operation of Great Salt Lake State Park. Primary responsibilities include greeting visitors, helping guests discover park resources, staffing the gift shop, collecting fees, and assisting with camper check-ins.
Additional duties involve maintaining buildings, grounds, and trails, as well as performing groundskeeping work and participating in interpretive programs. This position can be transitioned into an internship if requested by the applicant.
Applicants must be at least 16 years of age and possess a valid Utah driver’s license at the time of employment. The role requires the ability to work independently in a tourism environment, outdoors, and during weekends and holidays.
Preference may be given to individuals with experience in customer service, cash handling, or education in a natural resource-related field. All hires must successfully pass a criminal history background check.
