The Sanpete County Commission will hold its second meeting for July on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, according to a notice published July 20. The meeting is scheduled for 2:00 P.M. at the Sanpete County Courthouse, located at 160 North Main, Suite 302, in Manti, Utah.
A public hearing is scheduled to consider and potentially recommend approval for amendments to the Sanpete County Land Use Ordinance and Subdivision Ordinance. Proposed changes include updates to the Wildland Urban Interface Code, additions to definitions for Service Ranch, Private Landing Strip, and Bunkhouse, and modifications to the Land Use Classification Matrix.
Other ordinance matters include updates to supporting documents within the Subdivision Ordinance and changes to the definition of Skyline Mountain Resort Area 2 and 3 in relation to the 2026 SMSSD Water Plan. The commission is also set to vote on these ordinance changes following the public hearing.
Commissioners will consider a declaration of a local emergency within Sanpete County arising from flooding in and around the Town of Fayette, pursuant to the Utah Emergency Management Act.
The agenda includes several administrative and departmental items. This includes approval of claims and finances, a right-of-way application for S.G. Mayne Excavation to install a 3-inch power conduit, and payment for services related to the review of the Rural Utah Infrastructure Coalition Local Entity Plat.
Additional items include the approval of remaining Competitive Business Grant application winners from the Sanpete County Economic Opportunity Advisory Board. Other matters involve Sheriff Jared Buchanan's requests regarding personnel and payments, the purchase of three printers for the Sheriff’s office, and discussions regarding the Utah RTP grant contract and the purchase of a dozer.
