Utah Royals FC announced the signing of defender Ali Swensen through the remainder of the 2026 NWSL season on Tuesday, August 4, 2026.
Swensen, 22, has been with the Utah Royals as a training player throughout the 2026 season and earned the contract after impressing the coaching staff during her time with the club.
A Salt Lake City native, Swensen began her collegiate career at Weber State University. During her three seasons with the Wildcats, she contributed to 12 goals and earned All-Conference Academic and Second Team honours. As a freshman at Weber State, she scored the game-winning goal in a 1-0 victory against Northern Colorado University.
Following her junior season at Weber State, Swensen transferred to the University of Utah to finish her college career under Head Coach Hideki Nakada. In her senior season with the Utes, she logged 1092 minutes across 20 appearances, netting one goal and assisting twice.
Swensen started 39 of 72 matches over her four-year collegiate career. She was acquired by Utah as a free agent for the 2026 season.
