Utah's tech ecosystem is seeing significant momentum as evidenced by recent business awards and upcoming community engagements. Six Utah-based leaders were named among the twelve winners of the EY 2026 Entrepreneur Of The Year Mountain West Award, with three of those winners located specifically in Salt Lake City.
Jim Wilson, an EY Partner and Program Co-Director for the Mountain West, stated that these winners are founders who are reshaping industries and redefining entrepreneurial leadership through vision and community impact.
The Utah winners include Brian Beutler of Alianza in Pleasant Grove, Allyse Jackson of Beehive Meals in Layton, and Ryan Anderson, Kyle Freebairn, Brett Hopkins, and Jeff Reynolds, all based in Salt Lake City. These honorees represent various sectors including fintech, logistics, food, legal tech, and consumer brands.
In addition to these awards, Silicon Slopes has announced a partnership with Saras AI Institute to provide an exclusive 30% scholarship for the Advanced AI Engineer Certification. The program, which features curriculum co-designed by leaders from Microsoft and Google, allows engineers to build portfolios involving RAG systems and full-stack AI applications. Enrollment for this opportunity closes July 15th.
Other upcoming community events include the Tech-Moms Summer Meetup scheduled for July 16 at Progressive Leasing in Draper. The event will feature a financial workshop and networking opportunities.
