The Lehi boys golf team secured its first-ever Region 3 tournament title on Monday, Aug. 31, according to a report by the Lehi Free Press. The Pioneers finished with a team score of 283, narrowly defeating Lone Peak, which finished with 285.
The tournament victory was achieved at Thanksgiving Point. Sophomore Crue Harward earned individual medalist honors after shooting a 5-under 67. Jordan Ofahengaue tied for second place with a 68, while Zane Haehl finished third with a personal-best 71.
Other varsity contributors included Simon Caceres and Brodyn Pace, who tied with 77 strokes, Adi Notoa with a 78, Owen Combs with an 80, and Carson Priest with an 81. In the JV tournament, Tate Bollschweiler recorded the best score for Lehi with an 80.
Coach Johnny Revill stated that the victory is a historic moment for the program. He noted that the team has long aimed to meet the standard set by Corner Canyon and Lone Peak, who have historically dominated the classification.
The tournament results saw Corner Canyon finish third with 297, American Fork in fourth with 302, and Skyridge in fifth with 304.
