Lehi residents Brooklynn Kelson and Taylor Ehat secured top honors at the seventh annual My Utah Photo Contest in July 2026. Kelson won first place, while Ehat earned the Best in Show title via public popular vote, according to a report by the Lehi Free Press.
Kelson's winning photograph, titled Dancing in the Skies, features a ballerina on the Bonneville Salt Flats. A professional photographer with five years of experience, Kelson noted that she aims to showcase Utah's beauty through movement. Her first-place image is currently displayed on freeway billboards along the Wasatch Front.
Ehat won Best in Show with his photograph Mesa Arch Glow, which depicts golden hour light at Mesa Arch in Canyonlands National Park. Ehat, a creative professional in graphic design and web product design, stated that photography has been a passion of his since 1998.
The Bank of Utah, which hosts the annual contest to celebrate Utah's natural beauty and local talent, reported receiving just under 450 submissions for this year's competition. The winning photographs and honorable mentions will be featured in the Bank of Utah's 2027 My Utah calendar. The first-place winner will appear on the calendar cover, while the Best in Show selection will be featured on the back cover.
Both Kelson and Ehat received cash prizes for their entries. Kelson, who studied at Brigham Young University, credited mentors Nate Edwards and Jaren Wilkey for her professional development. Ehat praised the Lehi community and local business owners for providing a great environment for living and working.
