Intermountain Health announced July 2, 2026, that newborns born at its Utah hospitals between July 1 and July 7 will receive custom-made commemorative onesies and special certificates to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States.
The healthcare provider plans to distribute a total of 1,000 of these custom-made America 250 onesies across its various hospital locations throughout the state. In addition to the clothing item, each qualifying infant will receive an America 250 certificate intended to serve as a lasting keepsake for new parents.
The commemorative gift program specifically includes infants in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) who are spending the July 4 holiday while hospitalized. According to Intermutable Health, the initiative aims to provide a sense of celebration for families during their hospital stay.
Amy Christensen, RN, who serves as the regional chief nursing officer for Intermountain Health’s Utah hospitals, noted that caregivers enjoy celebrating every birth within their facilities. She stated that the organization strives to make every birth a special moment for families and expressed that tying the celebration to a once-in-a-lifetime event like America 250 makes the occasion even more significant for those involved.
The distribution of these items comes during a period of high birth volume for the healthcare network. Intermountain Health reported that in 2025, the organization delivered 27,300 babies across its hospitals throughout Utah.
While the commemorative program focuses on newborns, Intermountain Health continues to operate various specialized services and facilities in the region. For example, St. George Regional Hospital, located at 1380 East Medical Center Drive in St. George, provides around-the-clock care and maintains a campus focused on clinical excellence and compassionate care.
The St. George Regional Hospital location also hosts the River Road Clinic - InstaCare at 577 South River Road, which offers licensed professionals for non-life-threatening urgent care without the need for an appointment.
