The 5th annual Park City Twilight cross-country meet was scheduled for Aug. 20 at the Quinns Junction Athletic Fields in Park City, Utah. The event was described by the meet director as an early-season competition held on the same course as the Park City Invitational.
The scheduled race program included an open race at 5:20 pm, followed by Boys JV 3 Mile at 6:00 pm and Girls JV 3 Mile at 6:35 pm. Varsity races were scheduled for 7:15 pm for boys and 7:45 pm for girls, with awards following at 8:15 pm.
According to the meet director, Steve Cuttitta, the course is a three-mile challenging route consisting of grass and dirt trails. While the footing is described as excellent for most of the course, the path crosses pavement for a few steps. The course is a single loop where the finish repeats the start point.
The meet was organized with specific guidelines for participants and teams. Each team was allowed an unlimited number of entries, though varsity races were limited to 10 runners per team. Coaches were informed that registration was set to close on Aug. 18, and payment was required by Aug. 19 to ensure athlete entry.
The event was located at the Quinns Junction Sports Complex at 600 Gillmor Way in Park City. Due to limited parking at the site, spectators were encouraged to carpool, and buses were directed to park at Park City High School at 1750 Kearns Blvd.
