Broomfield, Colo. — Vail Resorts, Inc. announced that Bill Hornbuckle has been appointed to the company's board of directors. Hornbuckle is the President and Chief Executive Officer of MGM Resorts International, a global hospitality and entertainment company.
Hornbuckle brings over 35 years of experience in areas including resort operations, marketing, strategy, and hospitality. He has held various leadership roles at MGM Resorts, including positions as chief operating officer and chief marketing officer.
Vail Resorts CEO Rob Katz stated that Hornbuckle is an accomplished hospitality leader with experience in operating world-class resorts and building guest loyalty. Katz noted that Hornbuckle's arrival comes as the company launches Epic Experience, a multi-year roadmap aimed at making mountain journeys more seamless and personalized.
Hornbuckle, who resides in Las Vegas, expressed excitement about joining the board and noted his personal connection to the mountains. He stated his intention to work with the leadership team to help the company deliver long-term value for shareholders while leveraging technology to improve guest experiences.
In addition to his role at MGM Resorts, Hornbuckle serves as the Chair of the U.S. Travel Association. He has also been involved in expanding sports entertainment in Las Vegas, serving as a board member and President of T-Mobile Arena, and assisting with efforts to attract the NFL's Raiders through the Clark County Stadium Authority Board.
Hornbuckle, a resident of Park City, is the tenth member of the Vail Resorts board of directors. He joins other board members including Reggie Chambers, Sue Decker, Rob Katz, Iris Knobloch, Nadia Rawlinson, Hilary Schneider, Peter Vaughn, Michele Romanow, and Bruce Sewell.
