The 4th Annual 9-11 Memorial Ruck will take place tomorrow morning. The event serves to honor the 412 first responders who lost their lives while protecting and serving on September 11, 2001.

Organizers noted that the ruck will proceed regardless of weather conditions.
Ceremony time and location
The opening ceremony is scheduled for 8:20 AM at the USU Botanical Gardens located at 920 South 50 West in Kaysville.
Ruck route and gear details
The 9.6 mile ruck will feature three stopping points equipped with hydration stations and medical treatment on standby. While not required, participants are encouraged to wear FD bunker gear or carry a 30 lb. ruck.
Participating local emergency agencies
A collaborative effort for the event includes Hill AFB Fire and Emergency Services, the Kaysville Fire Department and Police Departments, and the Layton Fire Department and Police Departments.
Significance of Patriot Day
The event is part of the observance of Patriot Day, a time to remember the nearly 3,000 people who perished on September 11, 2001. The memorial honors the bravery of first responders, military members, and ordinary Americans who acted during the attacks at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and Shanksville.
