The Lehi Historical Society is working to install 36 large historical markers throughout Lehi to educate residents and visitors about the city's past, according to a recent announcement by the society.
Program funding and key landmarks
The Lehi Historical Marker Program is funded by HADCO Construction and Lehi’s PARC Program. The initiative aims to highlight significant local landmarks, including the Lehi Tabernacle, the Jordan River Bridge, and the Utah Southern Railroad.
Additional planned marker locations
Other planned marker locations include the George Goates Farm, the Carter Airport, and the Lehi Roller Mills. The program also features sites such as the Christian and Sarah O. Knudsen House, the Thomas R. Cutler Mansion, and a marker commemorating the 1983 flood.
Bear Lake recreational opportunities
In nearby Bear Lake, various state park locations provide recreational opportunities across the Utah and Idaho borders. North Beach at Bear Lake State Park features a two-mile swimming area with a gradual lake bottom.
The Bear Lake State Park Marina in Garden City offers 20 reservable overnight boat slips and a group day use pavilion. On the east side of the lake in Utah, campgrounds such as Cisco Beach and Rainbow Cove are located north of Laketown. In Idaho, the Mountain Fawn Campground provides facilities for groups as large as 50 people.
