A vacancy has opened on the Vineyard City Council following the resignation of Ezra Nair, according to a public notice published August 31.
The City Council will follow a specific process to receive applications and appoint a registered voter to fill the unexpired term.
Candidates for the seat must be registered voters and must have lived within the city for twelve consecutive months immediately preceding the appointment date. Applicants are required to submit a completed application to the City Recorder by 12:00 PM on September 11, 2026, along with a $50 filing fee.
While the application is available on the city website under the Recorder page, candidates are encouraged to include a letter stating their interest and a summary of their qualifications. The appointed individual will serve the remainder of the term, which ends on December 31, 2027.
The City Council is scheduled to hold an open meeting on September 15, 2026, at 4:00 PM in the City Council Chambers located at 125 South Main Street, Vineyard, Utah. During this meeting, the Council will interview qualified applicants regarding their fitness for office and make an appointment in accordance with UCA § 20A-1-510.
The notice was certified by City Recorder Robin Bond. Individuals requiring special accommodations for the meeting can contact the City Recorder at least 24 hours in advance.
