A vacancy has opened on the Vineyard City Council following the resignation of Ezra Nair, according to a notice published August 31.
The Vineyard City Council will interview qualified applicants and appoint a member to fill the remainder of the unexpired term during an open meeting scheduled for September 15, 2026.
Candidates for the position must be registered voters and must have resided within Vineyard for twelve consecutive months immediately before the date of appointment.
Interested individuals must submit a complete application to the City Recorder by 12:00 PM on September 11, 2026. The process requires a $50 filing fee. While the application is available on the City Recorder page of the city website, candidates are also encouraged to provide a statement of interest and a summary of qualifications.
The meeting to interview candidates and make the appointment is scheduled for 4:00 PM on September 15, 2026, at the City Council Chambers located at 125 South Main Street in Vineyard.
The appointed individual will serve on the Vineyard City Council until December 31, 2027.
