Beehive Science and Technology Academy announced in a September 1 statement that select openings are available for enrollment in elementary and secondary classes for the 2026-2027 school year. The non-profit, tuition-free, K-12 public charter school is located at 2165 East 9400 South in Sandy, Utah.
The academy provides a curriculum focused on science, technology, engineering, and math, alongside traditional courses such as art, history, and English. The school also offers various after school clubs for all grade levels to support foundations in social science and humanities.
Since its establishment in 2005, the school has grown from 315 students to a current enrollment of 941 students. In 2026, the academy received its third Platinum Level STEM School Designation from the Utah State Board of Education and the Utah STEM Action Center. The school has also received Cognia School Accreditation and Cognia STEM Accreditation.
U.S. News and World Report has ranked the academy as the Top Utah High School from 2021 to the present. Additionally, the school has received a Charter School of the Year designation from the Utah Association of Public Charter Schools and multiple Best of State awards.
Project-based learning is used as a central component of the school's STEM and certification programs to foster student engagement and collaborative work ethic. The student body is culturally diverse, with students representing 82 different cultural identities from 58 different countries.
Executive Director Hanifi Oguz stated that the school's diverse and multicultural community provides a foundation for students to achieve personal skills and academic excellence. Oguz noted that students have opportunities to apply hands-on progress in their education.
During the summer, the school's robotics team competed in the Canaday Cup International Competition, where it won second place in Robot Design and was named an Alliance Finalist.
