Salt Lake County Library branches are hosting various educational programs on Monday, June 15, featuring citizenship preparation classes, dinosaur-themed scavenger hunts, and specialized activity kits for teens and adults with intellectual disabilities.
Citizenship preparation class in South Jordan
In South Jordan, the library is hosting a citizenship class from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. held in partnership with the English Skills Learning Center. The session aims to prepare permanent residents for the citizenship exam.
All Ability Activity Kits available
The library system is also providing All Ability Activity Kits at several locations, including West Jordan, Magna, and Draper. The Draper branch specifically highlighted a dinosaur-themed kit for teens and adults with intellectual disabilities. These seasonal kits include background information, craft instructions, coloring pages, and details regarding in-person library activities.
Children's programming and scavenger hunts
Children's programming on Monday includes a "Baby Rave Playtime Fun" session in Riverton from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., featuring glow-in-the-dark activities for children ages 0 to 5. Additionally, the Taylorsville branch is hosting an Express Scavenger Hunt where participants can search for hidden dinosaurs in the library to earn a small prize.
Take-home dinosaur craft activity
Other hands-on activities available Monday include a dinosaur clothespin take-home craft at the Taylorsville location, available while supplies last.
