Mrs. Brockbank, a Beverly Taylor Sorenson (BTS) Arts Music Integration Coach, has spent seven weeks collaborating with Meadow Brook Elementary teachers to integrate music into subjects such as math, spelling, and reading.
Through this partnership, teachers are learning techniques involving singing spelling words, performing math on a beat, and using instruments or scarves to support learning.
The program has included morning piano performances and song requests.
Teachers are expected to retain the instructional techniques introduced during this time for use after the coach's departure.
