The In the Making exhibition at Gittins Gallery celebrates artwork created by participants in University of Utah programs led by emerging art educators. The exhibition runs from August 6 to August 25, 2026.
The exhibition focuses on artmaking as a process of discovery. It highlights how creative practice can build confidence, foster relationships, and shape both artists and teachers. The display includes work from participants and educators in the university’s Community Arts Research & Education (CARE) Program, as well as artwork from young artists attending the department’s summer camps.
A community celebration was held on August 21 from 6 to 8 pm, allowing visitors to meet participants and explore the exhibition. Gittins Gallery is located at 375 S. 1530 E. in Salt Lake City, with gallery hours from Monday through Thursday, 10 am to 3 pm.
