Utah Volleyball secured its second sweep of the weekend at the UNC Invitational, defeating the Denver Pioneers in straight sets. The victory extended the Utes' undefeated streak in three-set matches for the 2026 season to seven-0.
The Utes won the match with scores of 25-11, 25-16, and 25-21. During the first set, Utah established an early lead aided by kills from Loryn Helgesen and Katelynn Field. The second set saw Lana Mijacic record three consecutive kills to build a 12-6 advantage. Izzy Marco set a career high with four aces during the second set, which ended with a 25-16 win for Utah.
In the third set, Denver managed to take a 12-11 lead, but Utah regained control through kills and blocks from Olga Musial and Lana Mijacic. The Utes secured the match win following a kill by DyBorrah Johnson.
Individual standout performances included Lana Mijacic and Kamryn Gibadlo, who both recorded seven kills. DyBorrah Johnson recorded five kills and set career highs in kills, attempts, hitting percentage, and digs. The Utes outpaced Denver 40-24 in kills and maintained a .375 hitting percentage compared to Denver's .058.
