USU Botanical Center Hosts Annual Scarecrow Walk
September 18, 2026
The free event kicks off Saturday, Sept. 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with live music, family activities, crafts, food, educational booths, and more. The annual Scarecrow 5K with Farmington Rotary begins at 9 a.m. that day.
Visitors can explore the Scarecrow Walk throughout the week from dawn to dusk and vote for their favorite displays. Awards will include Judges’ Choice and People’s Choice, with first, second, and third-place winners recognized.
According to Alex Zesiger, outreach manager for the USU Botanical Center, the Scarecrow Walk is one of the Botanical Center’s signature fall events, welcoming thousands of visitors and giving community members a chance to experience the gardens in a fun and unexpected way.
“Every year we’re amazed at the creativity people bring to their displays, and it’s so much fun watching families walk through the gardens, pick their favorite displays, and discover something new along the way,” she said. “It’s a really joyful way to celebrate fall and bring people together outdoors.”
The USU Botanical Center is located at 80 E. 725 S. in Kaysville. For further information about the event, contact Zesiger at Alex.Zesiger@usu.edu, or visit the scarecrow walk website.
