SUU Community and Workforce Development provided targeted, skill-building courses designed to meet the evolving needs of the Southern Utah workforce. These trainings were developed in response to input from local employers and employees to focus on practical, durable skills like communication, leadership, problem-solving, and adaptability.
The course offerings were grounded in research regarding regional workforce trends. The program aimed to strengthen the local talent pipeline by enhancing workplace readiness and supporting career advancement to help individuals and teams thrive in a dynamic economy.
Scheduled training sessions included Certified Paralegal, Human Resources Professional, and Professional Bookkeeping with Quickbooks Online on Friday, September 4. Other offerings included The Complete Project Manager with CAPM and PMP Prep, also on Friday, September 4.
A wide range of courses was scheduled for Tuesday, September 15, including Accounting and Finance for Entrepreneurs, Artificial Intelligence for Marketing Professionals, and Business Law for Entrepreneurs. Other sessions on that date included certificates in Finance Essentials, Human Resource Management, Management Skills, and Negotiation.
Additional courses scheduled for Tuesday, September 15 included Communicating Collaboratively, Excel Advanced Skills, Excel Tips & Tricks, Frontline Manager (ACE CREDIT), Frontline Manager Certificate, HR Management (ACE CREDIT), HR Skills Fundamentals Certificate, HRCI Pro: Talent Acquisition, HRCI Pro: Workplace Wellness, HRCI: Certificate in Managing the Hybrid Workforce, HRCI: HR Ethics Certificate, HRCI: HR Hot Topics Bundle, Leading and Managing Change, Management Skills (ACE CREDIT), Nonprofit Skills for Leaders: Nonprofit Communications, Nonprofit Skills for Leaders: Strategic Planning, Professional Communication Series, Real-World Cybersecurity Scenarios, Utah Tourism Essentials, and the WorkplaceReady Job and Mentoring Pathway.
Other training dates included Excel Basics on Wednesday, September 30; T-Bird 10 Professional Skills on Thursday, October 1; and Wilderness First Responder on Friday, November 20.
