Construction is underway on a major new freeway connection in Lehi designed to improve east-west travel across northwest Utah County and provide better access for drivers heading to Saratoga Springs and Eagle Mountain. On March 18, 2026, the Utah Department of Transportation broke ground on the 2100 North Freeway Project, a $621 million effort to build a 2.8-mile limited-access freeway segment along SR-194 between Interstate 15 and the Mountain View Corridor near Redwood Road.
Project scope and construction start
The project will create a direct freeway-to-freeway link, eliminating signalized intersections along the route and incorporating 14 new bridges, two pedestrian bridges, and nearly two miles of shared-use paths. UDOT Region Three Director Rob Clayton stated, “As Utah County continues to thrive, we are investing in projects like this to keep Utah moving. This new connection will make it easier for people to get where they need to go.” Project Director Andrew Jordan added that it strengthens regional connectivity for commuters, family visits, and other travel.
Traffic models project the completed roadway will save east-west commuters roughly 12 minutes in each direction during peak periods. It is also expected to reduce congestion on Redwood Road (SR-68), a heavily used corridor in the area. The work is scheduled to continue through late 2028.
Expected commuter time savings
Separately, UDOT is advancing the Pioneer Crossing Flex Lanes project on State Route 145 between I-15 and Redwood Road in Lehi. Construction on the reversible or adjustable lane system began in September 2025 and is slated to wrap up in late 2026, providing additional capacity tailored to rush-hour demand on this busy east-west arterial.
Lehi City is also delivering local roadway upgrades, including widening 2300 West from three to five lanes between Main Street and 2150 North, with associated curb, gutter, sidewalk, and signal improvements. These enhancements support overall mobility in the city.

The 2100 North project forms a key part of nearly $1.4 billion in approved northwest Utah County transportation investments aimed at accommodating rapid growth in Lehi, Saratoga Springs, and Eagle Mountain. While additional segments of Mountain View Corridor and SR-73 (Cory Wride Highway) extensions remain in planning stages with later start dates, the current Lehi-focused work directly targets improved through-access for traffic originating from or destined to those neighboring communities.
