The 2019 high school football recruiting class in Utah was headlined by standout wide receiver Puka Nacua of Orem High School, who earned the top position in the state's composite rankings. Nacua, a 6-foot-2, 190-pound prospect, held a 0.9404 rating, leading a highly competitive group of athletes across the region.
Top-Rated Defensive and Offensive Talent,
Following Nacua at the top of the rankings was defensive tackle Siaki Ika from East High School in Saltly Lake City. Ika, weighing 372 pounds at 6-foot-2.5, maintained a high rating of 0.9400. The top of the list also featured Chase Roberts of American Fork, a 6-foot-4 wide receiver with an 84.52 rating.
Bingham High School Depth
The Bingham High School program in South Jordan produced several highly ranked recruits in the 2019 class. Simote Pepa, a 6-foot-3, 320-pound defensive tackle, was ranked third in the state with a rating of 0.8781. Other notable Bingham players included linebacker Lolani Langi, who held an 0.8737 rating, and junior linebacker Junior Tafuna, rated at 0.8544.
Bingham's depth extended further down the rankings with Saleka Ata'ata, a 6-foot linebacker with an 0.8200 rating, as well as running back Braedon Wissler and tight end Briasen Harward, both of whom were rated at 0.7700.
Lehi Prospects Stand Out
Skyridge High School in Lehi also featured significant talent within the 2019 rankings. Logan Sagapolu, an offensive lineman measuring 6-foot-3 and 340 pounds, was ranked fourth in the state with a rating of 0.8770. The Skyridge class also included linebacker Blayden Togiai, rated at 0.8100, and dual-threat player Jayden Clemons, who shared that same 0.8100 rating.
Additionally, Jairus Satiu, listed as an offensive lineman from Skyridge (Orem), appeared in the rankings with a 0.8322 rating.
Orem High School Rankings
Orem High School showcased several players in the top tier of the rankings. In addition to the number one ranked Puka Nacua, Orem featured offensive tackle Hunter Hill, a 6-foot-6, 275-pound prospect with an 0.8533 rating. The school's talent also included dual-threat player Cooper Legas, rated at 0.8133, and athlete Terrance Faumui, who held an 0.8267 rating.
Orem's recruiting presence was rounded out by offensive guard Fred Prescott, a 6-foot-4, 330-pound player with a 0.900 rating.
Timpview Recruiting Presence
Timpview High School in Provo contributed a large number of players to the 2019 rankings. The list included defensive tackle Chuck Alatini, an 0.8648-rated player, along with linebacker Kani Taufa and offensive guard Nick Child, both rated at 0.83. The school also featured Canaan Yarro, a 6-foot-1 offensive lineman with an 0.8200 rating.
Other Timpview recruits included linebackers Kaleo Neves and Sonny Makasini, as well as offensive guard Lucas Child, all of whom held 0.8100 ratings. The school's depth was further demonstrated by the presence of linebacker Nick Child at an 0.80 rating.
Salt Lake Area Talent
The Salt Lake City area provided several other high-ranking prospects. East High School featured defensive tackle Siaki Ika, offensive tackle Jackson Owens, and athletes Charlie Vincent and Larenz Redd. Alta High School in Sandy also appeared with notable recruits including linebacker Remedy Akoteu, 0.8300 rating, and Brandon Folau, 0.8100 rating.
Highland High School contributed linebacker Jackson Hawes, rated at 0.8100, and defensive lineman Caden Hilborn, who held an 0.7983 rating. In Herriman, athlete Blake Freeland was ranked with an 0.8456 rating.
Regional Recruiting Scope
Other notable players from across the state included Caleb Christensen of Sky View in Smithfield, who was rated 0.8259, and Brooks Maile of Pine View in St. George, with a 0.8215 rating. The rankings also noted David Park of Snow Canyon, a 6-foot-4 offensive tackle with a 0.7600 rating.
Weber High School in Ogden contributed several players to the list, including wide receiver Sione Moa, 0.7883 rating, and defensive linemen Pierce Callister and Brandt Opheikens, both rated at 0.7700.
