Southern Utah University entities scheduled an event to commemorate World Suicide Prevention Day. The goal of the event was to help the SUU community learn more about suicide prevention and connect with one another.
The event was scheduled for Thursday, September 10, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. MDT. It was hosted by the SUU Health and Wellness Center, the Office of Student Outreach and Support, Student Involvement and Leadership, and Counseling and Psychological Services.
Located at the Sharwan Smith Student Center in Cedar City, the event featured three booths hosted by Health and Wellness, STIL, and CAPS. Participants could visit the booths to collect a passport for a chance to win a $20 Chik-Fil-A voucher or a Jersey Mikes voucher, with multiple winners possible.
The event was intended for current students, faculty, staff, and the community to help change the narrative about suicide in the community by showing support.
