American voters are demanding accountability from both Republicans and Democrats to move forward with balanced immigration solutions, according to a new poll from the Forum and The Bullfinch Group.
The nationwide online survey, conducted between August 14 and August 17, 2026, found that 77% of registered voters and 74% of all adults agree that Republicans and Democrats should be held accountable to act together and urgently on fair, firm, and compassionate immigration solutions.
The poll results indicated that more than 70% of Americans support fair, firm, and compassionate immigration solutions. Support was particularly high among specific groups, including 82% of self-identified Republican voters and 80% of white evangelical Christians.
Jennie Murray, President and CEO of the Forum, stated that this was a pivotal moment for the administration and Congress to listen to Americans and work together to advance these solutions. Murray noted that as midterms approach, voters are demanding accountability from leaders on both sides of the aisle to advance immigration policies that benefit communities.
The survey was fielded among 1,200 adults, including 1,000 registered voters. Sampling controls were utilized to ensure a representative number of respondents from demographic groups such as race, gender, age, political affiliation, and geographic region. The margin of error was ±3.1% for registered voters and ±2.83% for adults at a 95% confidence interval.
