Leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints addressed a worldwide audience during the Sunday afternoon session of the October 2026 general conference. The session, which took place on Sunday, Oct. 4, 2026, served as the concluding meeting of the conference.
President Dallin H. Oaks, President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, was the concluding speaker of the session. He stated that the messages of the conference and the Spirit of the Lord inspire followers to focus their learning and unite their testimonies on the teachings of Jesus Christ and His Father’s plan. President Oaks also invited the public to attend the Salt Lake Temple Celebration on April 5, 2027, noting that the temple doors will open to the public for the first time since 1893 following extensive renovation.
Several Apostles provided teachings during the final session. Acting President of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles Dieter F. Uchtdorf said that commitment to covenants with Jesus Christ unites members rather than political views or culture. Elder David A. Bednar taught that receiving priesthood ordinances and entering sacred covenants are essential steps to align lives with God’s will. Elder Gary E. Stevenson emphasized that Heavenly Father knows individuals personally, while Elder Clark G. Gilbert stated that teaching truth with love should be a hallmark of disciples in the last days.
Other speakers included Sister Andrea Muñoz Spannaus, who said that doing God's work brings great joy, and Elder Moisés Villanueva, who spoke about the blessings of living the law of tithing. Elder Thabo Lebethoa stated that Jesus Christ is the answer to all challenges, and Elder Paul H. Sinclair noted that helping people rather than judging them prepares the world for the Second Coming. Brother Gabriel W. Reid added that the purpose of a lesson is for people to think about the Savior.
The Sunday afternoon session was conducted by Elder Gérald Caussé of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. Music was provided by the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square under the direction of Mack Wilberg and Ryan Murphy, with Richard Elliott and Joseph Peeples at the organ. Prayers were offered by Elder John D. Amos and Brother Chad H. Webb.
President Oaks also encouraged the public to watch the first episode of "Dedicate," a new series that is premiering worldwide in multiple languages.
