The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Vernal Field Office issued an Environmental Assessment (EA) for the Tungsten Well Pad. The decision record approved two Applications for Permit to Drill, authorizing Koda Uinta, LLC to directionally drill gas wells from the Tungsten 42-26-723 Well Pad.
According to a notice from the BLM, the project is located in the Red Wash Unit in Uintah County, Utah. The site is approximately 22.6 miles southeast of Vernal in Section 26, Township 7 South, Range 23 East.
The Environmental Assessment analyzed the effects of constructing the well pad along with associated infrastructure, including access roads, pipelines, and a powerline.
The BLM manages approximately 245 million acres of public land and 700 million acres of sub-surface mineral estate across the nation to sustain the health, diversity, and productivity of public lands.
