United Way of Salt Lake and 211 Utah’s Salt Lake team provided support to residents following a building fire at the North Union Apartments in Midvale on July 31, 2026. The fire displaced more than 200 families.
Through a partnership with Airbnb.org, officials helped more than 80 families access free temporary housing to provide shelter while residents determine their next steps.
In the days following the fire, 211 Utah team members assisted impacted residents in navigating services and resources. This assistance included help finding clothing and household items, replacing lost documents, and accessing pet resources.
