Hillcrest High School seniors face several upcoming deadlines regarding graduation preparations and academic requirements for the spring 2026 semester. Important dates include the start of IB exams on April 24 and AP exams beginning May 4.
Cap and gown distribution is scheduled for April 28, 2026, between 11:06 am and 12:58 pm. To receive their gear from Jostens, students must attend the senior assembly during APP and meet specific criteria. These requirements include being on track for graduation and having all school and library fees paid. The final deadline to pick up caps and gowns is May 22, 2026, at 2:30 pm.
Regarding diploma types, students can view lists for Standard, Advanced, or Honors diplomas in the Counseling Center starting April 13. If a student believes their diploma type is incorrect, they have until April 17 to submit an appeal via forms available from their counselor.
Scholarship opportunities and deadlines are also approaching for various institutions. For Southern Utah University, the deadline is May 1, while Utah Tech University has a priority deadline of May 1. Snow College follows with a June 1 deadline.
Salt Lake Community College offers an SLCC CE Transition Scholarship for concurrent enrollment students who complete at least six SLCC credits and maintain a 2.0 GPA. Additionally, the Bruin Dream Scholarship is available for students facing challenges due to relocating to a new country, with an application deadline of June 30 through SLCC Scholarship Universe.
For those needing academic support, after school credit recovery sessions are available in the Counseling Center. Students must commit to all dates in their selected session and are advised to bring laptops and chargers.
Graduation festivities will culminate with a ceremony at the Maverick Center on May 27 at 6:30 PM. Other notable end-of-year events include the Senior Dinner Dance on May 22 and the Senior BBQ on May 26.
