East Midvale Elementary has released its parent update for the week of March 3-9, 2026. The announcement highlights the importance of National Reading Month and provides a schedule of upcoming school activities and community events.
In recognition of National Reading Month, the school noted that reading to children helps build vocabulary, language skills, and general knowledge for academic learning. Suggested ways to encourage reading include visiting local libraries for story times, using the SORA online library, listening to audio books, and reading signs during neighborhood walks.
The update also expressed gratitude to UWSL, CHG, PTA, and parent volunteers for their recent support.
Several events are scheduled for the coming weeks. Notable upcoming dates include a School Community Council meeting on March 12 at 5:30 pm and a PTA Meeting on March 13 at 1:30 pm, both of which are open to all. A Dojo Reward Assembly featuring a Masked Singer theme is set for March 13.
Looking further ahead, the school calendar includes All Pro Dads on March 18, the end of Ramadan on March 19, and the end of Quarter 3 on March 20. Other planned activities include field trips for 5th grade to Biztown on March 24 and Hale Theatre on April 1, as well as a Kindergarten field trip on March 31.
The school schedule also notes that there will be no school on Monday, March 23. Additional upcoming events include Spring Picture Day on March 25 and a PTA Classic Skate Night on March 31 from 5:00 pm to 8:30 pm.
