Governor Spencer J. Cox delivered keynote remarks and presented awards during the One Utah Summit held in Cedar City from August 4 through August 5, 2026. The event, which gathered state leaders and community members, featured various mainstage presentations and networking sessions designed to foster regional engagement across Utah.
Summit Schedule and Keynote
The summit schedule included a diverse array of programming held primarily at the America First Event Center and Southern Utah University. On Tuesday, Aug. 4, the summit's mainstage sessions were scheduled for the afternoon, with a keynote address from Governor Cox at 2:35 p.m. at the America First Event Center. The evening continued with an opening reception at Southern Utah University at 6:30 p.m.
Lieutenant Governor Participation
Lieutenant Governor Deidre M. Henderson maintained an active role throughout the two-day event. On Tuesday, Aug. 4, Henderson spoke at the One Utah Summit Utah Rural Leaders Academy graduation at 1:25 p.m. before moderating the "Global Partnerships, Rural Prosperity" panel at 3:00 p.m. at the America First Event Center. She also attended mainstage presentations at 4:00 p.m. and joined the summit's opening reception at 6:30 p.m. at Southern Utah University.
Awards and Community Engagement
The second day of the summit, Wednesday, Aug. 5, focused on awards and community engagement. Governor Cox was scheduled to present awards at 9:35 a.m. at the America First Event Center. Lieutenant Governor Henderson was also scheduled to present awards at the same time. The morning session included mainstage presentations at 10:50 a.m., followed by a service project at 12:30 p.m. involving Henderson at Southern Utah University.
Evening Programming
The summit's programming extended into the evening on Wednesday, Aug. 5. Governor Cox was scheduled to attend the Downtown at Dusk event at 5:00 p.m. at the Johnson Center for Community Arts and Education. Henderson was also slated to attend the Downtown at Dusk event at 5:00 p.m. Later that evening, both leaders had scheduled engagements involving the Utah Shakespeare Festival, with the Governor meeting with festival leaders at 7:40 p.m. and Henderson attending the festival at 8:00 p.m. in Cedar City.
Auxiliary Summit Features
The summit's agenda also included a variety of auxiliary events and facilities. On Tuesday, Aug. 4, the summit featured an exhibit hall available from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., as well as the BZI Summit Launch Party at 6:30 p.m. On Wednesday, Aug. 5, the exhibit hall remained open all day from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and the summit offered a food truck lunch from 12:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Additionally, the summit featured a store and a book club operating from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
Pre-Summit Activities
Leading up to the summit, Governor Cox maintained a busy schedule in Salt Lake City and surrounding areas. On Monday, Aug. 3, the Governor was scheduled to speak at a Utah National Guard change of command ceremony at the Roland R. Wright Air National Guard Base and attend a Boards and Commissions meeting at the Utah State Capitol. He was also scheduled to interview Third District Juvenile Court candidates at the State Capitol that afternoon. Lieutenant Governor Henderson's schedule for Monday, Aug. 3, included attending the National Guard ceremony, a legal update, and the Boards and Commissions meeting.
Post-Summit Schedule
Following the summit, Governor Cox was scheduled to visit wildfire burn areas and meet with residents in Beaver, Kanosh, and Millard on Thursday, Aug. 6, at 9:30 a.m. Lieutenant Governor Henderson had no public meetings scheduled for the remainder of the summit week, specifically on Thursday, Aug. 6, and Friday, Aug. 7.
