The Lehi boys golf team secured three consecutive Region 3 tournament victories before finishing third in their most recent meet at Soldier Hollow, according to a September 14 report. The team's recent third-place finish occurred while a top player was competing in a national event.
In the fourth Region 3 tournament held at Meadow Brook Golf Course in Taylorsville, Lehi won with a score of 274. Corner Canyon followed in second with 279, while Lone Peak and American Fork tied for third at 290. Skyridge finished fifth with 295.
Assistant Coach Greg Neer noted the performance was the team's best round in Region 3 meets this season. Brodyn Pace finished third in the individual medalist standings with a personal-best 66. Other varsity contributors included Crue Harrow and Jordan Ofahengaue, who both posted 68, and Simon Caceres, Adi Notoa, and Owen Combs, who each shot 72. The JV team finished fifth by a single point, led by Jaxson Malan with a 77.
Lehi achieved its third consecutive win during the fifth Region 3 tournament at Fox Hollow Golf Club in American Fork. The Pioneers carded a combined 278, ahead of Corner Canyon at 282 and American Fork at 283. Lone Peak and Skyridge finished with 290 and 293, respectively.
Coach Johnny Revill stated the team performed well despite giving up several strokes on the final holes. Crue Harrow led the varsity group with a 66. Other varsity scores included Ofahengaue at 69, Notoa at 71, Caceres at 72, Pace at 73, Combs at 75, Haehl at 76, and Malan at 84. The JV team finished fifth, led by Krew McMillen with an 82.
The sixth Region 3 tournament took place at Soldier Hollow Golf Course in Midway. With Jordan Ofahengaue away at the Curry Cup Championship in Farmingdale, New York, Lehi finished third with a score of 286. Lone Peak won the tournament with 279, followed by Corner Canyon at 283, American Fork at 290, and Skyridge at 296.
Simon Caceres finished third in the individual medalist standings with a 67. The team score was completed by Notoa at 71, Harrow at 72, and Combs at 76. Pace and Carson Priest both shot 79, while Haehl shot 80 and Bollschweiler shot 83. The JV team finished third, led by Van Ingram with a 78.
The next Region 3 tournament is scheduled for Monday, Sept. 21, at the Riverbend Golf Course in Riverton.
