The HMK Library is requesting volunteers to assist with the Take-Home Library Blue Book Baggies Program. The initiative aims to provide K-2 students with access to new books through a rotating system.
Volunteers are needed for one to two mornings each week between 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. to help switch out books for students.
The library notes that the success of the Take-Home Library program depends on having enough volunteers available. The role is described as a fun and laid-back opportunity that produces positive results for students.
Interested individuals can contact Brittany Redd at reddb@grandschools.org or 435-719-4826 to indicate which days they are available to help.
In addition to the volunteer program, the library provides various distance learning resources for students. These include e-books through Sora/Overdrive using a student ID format of S plus the student ID, and TumbleBook Library for picture books.
Other available digital resources include Audiobooks via AudioBookCloud, various podcasts such as Kidlit Radio and Story Time with Dad, and several read-aloud video options like Storyline Online.
