Season 30 of the NBC singing competition "The Voice" premiered on Monday, Sept. 21, featuring returning coaches Adam Levine and Kelly Clarkson alongside new coaches Queen Latifah and Riley Green. The two-hour premiere was followed by a second episode on Sept. 22, kicking off the Blind Auditions.
New mechanics were introduced for the current season, including the "First In Button," which allows a coach who turns first in a multi-chair turn to claim an artist before a final decision is made. This button can only be used once per artist. Additionally, there are no blocks this season. The show is also tracking the "TikTok artist of the season," where the finalist with the most overall likes and shares on the show's TikTok account will receive the title at the end of Season 30.
During the premiere week, several notable moments occurred. In the first episode, Queen Latifah used her "First In Button" to secure a singer from Kelly Clarkson and Riley Green. On the second episode, 15-year-old Koumba Diallo received a four-chair turn from Queen Latifah. In the third episode, 61-year-old Kyle Davis from Prince George, Virginia, received a four-chair turn while performing on guitar. Lexi Stephens, 23, from New York City, ultimately chose Adam Levine as her coach.
The current team rosters following the premiere week include: Team Adam features Destinee Monroe, Owen Uffens, Lexi Stephens, and Amanda Mikkel. Team Kelly includes Hazel Gerson, Brianna Cameron, Koumba Diallo, Johnnie Kapua of Herriman, Utah, and Brooklyn Marie. Team Queen consists of BigCountry, Marcus Ladden Jr., Mia Knight, and Alt Bloom. Team Riley includes Joe Henley, Brinkley Wright, Ferryn Wright, Caroline Alexis, Harmony McKee, and Kenna Elpers.
The Blind Auditions for Season 30 began on Sept. 21. The show's lineup includes returning coaches Adam Levine, the previous season's winner, and Kelly Clarkson.
