As students begin planning for college, the USU Eastern Admissions team is ready to help make the process as simple and supportive as possible. Led by Assistant Director of Recruitment Kevin Van Der Spek in his new leadership role, the team also welcomes new Admissions Specialist Zoey Howa as they continue helping students and families confidently navigate their educational journey.All three members of the admissions team are Eastern alumni, giving them firsthand experience with the opportunities and support available on campus."I'm most excited about leading our team to connect students with the information and resources they need to make a life-transforming decision," Van Der Spek said. "Our goal is to ensure our outreach is clear, supportive, and accessible so every student can easily see what's possible for their future."Howa, a newcomer to the team, is originally from Texas and now calls USU Eastern home. She says the university's combination of statewide opportunities and a close-knit campus community made it the perfect place to pursue her education."Eastern has quickly become a home away from home," Howa said. "I'm looking forward to building connections and helping students discover everything this campus has to offer."Admissions Specialist Sam Bradley says her favorite part of the job is helping students realize college is within reach."My favorite thing is helping someone realize that college can be an option for them when they hadn't thought about it before," Bradley said. "My advice is simple: just get started.
