The Adams Fire has reached approximately 86% containment, according to an update from the Mountain Green Fire Protection District on Monday evening.
The wildfire burned through tinder-dry grass and brush, moving uphill due to wind conditions. While many homes were saved through the efforts of multiple agencies, one home was damaged during the incident.
The fire caused one resident to be injured and transported to Ogden Regional Hospital. The Mountain Green Fire Protection District noted that multiple homes were evacuated as the fire threatened structures.
In addition to the residential damage, many fences were burned. Agencies involved in the response included the Riverdale FD, South Weber FD, and the Weber Fire District. Other responding units came from as far away as Box Elder.
A Utah State Initial Attack Task Force from North Dakota, which had been pre-positioned in Davis County last week, was also among the resources used to fight the fire.
The US Forest Service Wasatch Helitack provided bucket drops and a hand crew to assist with the response. An earlier estimate from Utah Fire Info placed the burned area at 45 acres.
