The Iron County School District has announced the adoption of ParentSquare as its new communication platform. The district stated that the move from Remind is intended to help keep parents and students better informed and more connected with their school.
In addition to communication updates, Iron Springs Elementary recently celebrated several student milestones. Third, fourth, and fifth graders participated in the inaugural Ultimate Field Day, which was sponsored by Southern Utah University.
Earlier in the year, kindergarten students at Iron Springs Elementary marked their 101st day of school with themed classroom celebrations. The school also hosted a STEAM night featuring a mobile planetarium, live animals, and horse anatomy demonstrations.
The Iron County School District Board of Education has been active in discussing various district-wide topics. The board approved a traditional school year calendar for the 2026-27 term, though discussions regarding different scheduling options continue.
Additionally, the board has been reviewing boundary proposals for district schools, including potential changes impacting East, South, North, Iron Springs, and Three Peaks. These discussions follow recent community input sessions regarding the proposed boundaries.
The school district continues to engage with students through various initiatives, such as Superintendent Dr. Lance Hatch visiting schools to gather student feedback. Iron Springs Elementary also utilizes an IRON Card system, allowing 3rd through 5th grade students to earn and use points at an school store.
