Aug. 17, 2026: Evacuation orders for the Reeder Subdivision downgraded from ‘Go’ to ‘Set’ as fire officials continue to combat the Black Canyon Fire

Forest Service Progress continues in efforts to end the Black Canyon Fire, which, at the time of writing, is 36% contained and stands at 3,563 acres. Fire officials have also reiterated the importance of not entering closed areas, as it can divert resources from firefighting efforts.
