Throughout the week, students participated in a variety of Olympic-style activities, each designed to highlight and reinforce essential values like Determination (“keep on trying”), Respect (“your actions matter”), Courage (“being scared, but doing it anyway”), Excellence (“doing your very best”), Resilience (“being willing to change”), and Collaboration. The children cheered each other on, learned to encourage teammates, and discovered the joy of growing together as a class community.The closing ceremonies brought all the classes together to celebrate the many ways they had embodied these values during their Olympic events. Laughter and smiles filled the classrooms as students watched slides of their favorite moments and victories, big and small.
