The Utah Hispanic Business Conference held an inaugural event that included introductions by Dr. Baldomero Lago, the UVU Chief International Officer. The program featured speakers including Mr. Ryan Starks, Executive Director of the Governor's Office of Economic Opportunity, Senator Luz Escamilla of the State of Utah, Mr. Juan Pascua, Executive Director of the Utah Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and H.E. Catalina Crespo Sancho, Ambassador of Costa Rica to the USA.
A roundtable panel discussion was moderated by Mr. Javier Chavez Jr., JD, MBA. The panel included Senator Luz Escamilla, H.E. Catalina Crespo Sancho, Ambassador of Costa Rica to the USA, Hon. Fernando Pérez, Consul General of El Salvador, Hon. Antonio Cruz, Deputy Consul of Mexico, State of Utah, Ms. Gaby Morales, Commercial Counselor for the Government of Guatemala, Los Angeles, Mr. Álvaro Silva-Santisteban, Executive Director of Investment, Tourism and Trade Commission of Peru, Los Angeles, and Dr. Marcus Borges, CEO of Oxpher Business & Consulting.
The event also featured representatives from various international bodies, including Hon. Educardo Baca, Consul of Mexico - State of Utah, and Hon. Czibor Omar Chicata-Sutmöller Sagenschnier, Consul General of Peru to Utah.
Following the panel discussion, the conference schedule included a break and a networking session before concluding at 12:30. The event represented multiple countries, with additional countries listed as pending.
