Kearns High School briefly entered a Secure Protocol as a precautionary measure due to a disorderly student outside the building, according to an October 23 statement from the Granite School District.
The protocol was initiated out of an abundance of caution while school administration and law enforcement addressed the situation.
The protocol was lifted after a few minutes. During the Secure Protocol, outside doors were locked and no one was permitted in or out of the building.
Inside the building, school operations proceeded as normal.
The Granite School District expressed appreciation for the patience and support of the community.
