San Juan County is currently searching for new board members to serve on the County Economic Development (CED) Board and the Tourism Tax Advisory Board (TTAB). Both groups function as advisory boards to the San Juan County Commission.
The CED board is looking for one new member to fill a three-year term. The primary functions of this board include overseeing the allocation and use of the Rural County Grant Program, which the San Juan County EDVS Office applies for annually. Members of the board also assist in reviewing the San Juan County Strategic Economic Development Plan and developing missions for business recruitment and retention.
Applicants for the CED board should be residents of San Juan County, with preference being given to those who own businesses within the county.
The TTAB is seeking four new members for two-year and four-year terms. This board advises the San Juan County Commissioners and the EDVS Office regarding the use of allocated tourism marketing funds.
To be eligible for the TTAB, members must be managers or owners of San Juan County businesses that pay restaurant tax (TRCC) or transient room tax (TRT).
Interested individuals must submit a resume and a letter of intent. The letter of intent is required to include a statement of qualifications, a statement of intent to serve on the specific board, and any additional expertise that could support their tenure.
All submissions are due by 5PM MST on Friday, December 18, 2020. The San Juan County Commission is scheduled to make final appointments during the commission meeting on Tuesday, January 5, 2021.
